A Season for Change

Crystal Lacy
A fling with the new gay tax intern? Accountant Stephen Webb has a pivotal tax season ahead of him and he doesn't have time for such distractions. At least, that's what he thinks, until Minoru "Max" Kamigawa walks into his life and disrupts all his plans.

(This is part of the Oahu Lovers series and will feature characters from Brave for You, but can be read as a STAND-ALONE STORY!)

Stephen's good at what he does, and if he satisfies this season's biggest catch and lands a repeat client for next year he's sure he'll make partner. He can ignore the fact that the contact for this big client happens to be his ex-lover, who smashed his heart to pieces and then walked out of his life. There's a promotion on the line, and Stephen's going to handle it.

Max needs to pursue a career path that will mean job security for him and his family. He'd really like to make enough money to move his mom and grandmother out of their run-down house. He secretly wants to follow his love of music, but that doesn't seem realistic, does it? Then he spots Stephen Webb, the silver fox whose team he's assigned to during his spring internship, and all Max can think about is pursuing Stephen.

Can Stephen and Max get through the tax season with their goals intact? Or will this season bring about unexpected change for both of them?

This story contains content that may not be suitable for younger readers, so I will label the chapters that apply with (mature) in the episode heading.

Wondering where Brave for You disappeared to? I've archived it to release on Kindle Unlimited, so you can find both the ebook and paperback editions there from July 27th through October 27th.
